This month, we celebrate the 25 year anniversary of the founding of our firm. First and foremost, we want to thank YOU, our clients and friends of the firm, for your support and confidence over these years. Many of our client relationships date back to my time as a partner in a local CPA firm, while other client relationships began more recently. We have advised you and supported you on your journey through the various stages of your life. Without your confidence and belief in us, the firm would not be what it is today.
I also want to thank every member of the L.K. Benson & Company team for their incredible support and hard work over the past 25 years. Kelly and Rosemary have been with us almost from the start and provide excellent client service in a caring, professional way. Nelson joined us five years ago and has been integral in helping us stay on top of a constantly changing tax world. We’ve had many others who have helped us over the years, with Peggy and Fran providing administrative and client support, Jim lending us additional tax expertise during busy season and a series of interns helping in many areas and learning the ins and outs of our business. We have always been a small but close-knit team, and we believe that allows us to provide a high level of personal attention to each of our clients.
Looking back on my notes and the letter I sent to clients, advisors and friends on December 1st, 1994 announcing the formation of the firm, the following goals and objectives listed in that announcement are as true today as they were 25 years ago:
- Focus on financial planning, tax and investment advisory services for individuals and families.
- Deliver timely, proactive services through strong relationships with our clients. We will maintain a high level of personal involvement with our clients.
- Stay on the cutting edge of planning strategies through affiliation with experts in related fields, networking with leading financial planning practitioners throughout the country, taking a leadership role in professional organizations, and attendance at various advanced conferences.
When Chris joined us over 10 years ago, he brought a fresh perspective to the firm, but our core principles haven’t changed. Now that he is an owner, we spend a lot of time developing our shared vision for the future. We both have a passion for providing excellent client service and we work hard to stay ahead of the curve on new technology, always moving forward as the world around us changes. We value the deep relationships we build with our clients and believe it’s important to never stop learning and to share our knowledge with our clients, both through our monthly newsletter and in our regular meetings. We are both very committed to the CPA Financial Planning profession and use our roles at the AICPA and MACPA to learn and share with other practitioners best practices and planning strategies.
We all care deeply about helping our clients live the lives they desire and to help address the wide variety of financial issues you face in your life's journey. We also believe in creating a workplace where everyone shares that passion, enjoys the important work we do, and can also lead balanced lives.
Thank you again for your support, confidence, and the relationships that make what we do to serve you so meaningful for us and our firm!
