Out With The Old, In With The New

It wasn't easy and it took longer than we hoped, but you are finally looking at our brand new website! We've known for some time that our website could use some updates but we wanted to take our time to make sure we did it right. We spent a lot of time thinking about what our new presence on the web should look like and what features it should have. Here are some of the areas we targeted:

  1. Explain what we do and why we do it: We take on many different roles for many different clients so we often struggle explaining to potential clients and even existing clients exactly what it is that we do. We wanted to express on the site why clients should work with us, what we do, and who we typically help. We also included a number of videos on the site explaining these areas in more detail.
  2. Get a more modern look that is mobile friendly - You've probably been to a website that you could just tell was built 5-10 years ago. That was our old site. And it was nearly impossible to read on a mobile device. The new site takes advantage of a single page scroll design so you don't have to jump from one page to another. You can just scroll down to find all the sections. It is also mobile responsive and easy to read and interact with on your phone, ipad or any other mobile device.
  3. Help you learn more about our team - We had some pictures on our old site but they were dated and some just taken with a cell phone. We had a professional photographer come in and take some great new pictures for each of our staff along with some candid shots you will see sprinkled throughout the site. Each team member also has a bio section with some information about them along with their e-mail address so you can always find it easily.
  4. Provide easier access to client resources - Clients of ours have a number of different technology solutions they can use and we've added a section of the site with links to these solutions. The next time you need to send something to us through the portal but you can't remember the link, now you just have to remember lkbenson.com!
  5. Make it easier for potential clients to find us - Our business is built on relationships and our growth is fueled by the times you recommend us to your friends, family and colleagues. We know that the first place those people will turn after you tell them about us is the internet. In addition to a more visually appealing presence, it's now much easier for potential clients to learn more about us. They can sign up for our monthly newsletter and receive future blog posts. They can easily find directions to our office or submit a contact form for more information. And when they are ready to talk to us they can even set up a meeting right on the site through the "book a meeting" link at the bottom!
  6. Keep you up to date on the latest in the tax, investment and financial planning world - We've been blogging for a while now and will continue to do so on the new site. Now you won't have to sort through several different blogs from each of us, we'll all be in one easy to find spot. Our new website provider is also rolling out some great new features for blogging over the next couple months so this area of the site will continue to improve.

While we love the design and feel of the new site, we will also be able to easily update it and make changes in the future. We welcome your input as you explore the new site. If you see things you like or don't like please let us know. We know it might take some time to get used to but we want to make sure the new site works well for everyone.
